Fiscal Policy in the Aftermath of the Financial Crisis

The idea of the conference is to bring together economists who have recently contributed to new developments in fiscal policy, especially in areas such as fiscal stimuli in financial crises, sustainable fiscal policy in currency unions, the modelling of sovereign risk premia and their effects on the real economy, the link between government debt and interest rates for the private sector, moral hazard and bailouts in monetary unions, fiscal limits and empirical DSGE models of fiscal policy.

The Missouri Economics Conference is held during the each year and is jointly sponsored by the Department of Economics at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the Research Divisions of the Federal Reserve Banks of St. Louis and Kansas City.
The 2011 Missouri Economics Conference will be held at Washington University in St. Louis on October 14 and 15, 2011. To be considered for presentation at the conference, research papers or abstracts should be sent via email to: gradconf@artsci.wustl.edu. The deadline for submissions is August 15, 2011.
