Donations are an ever-increasing source of support for higher education as state resources dwindle and tuition costs threaten accessibility. The Department of Economics is fortunate to have generous benefactors among its almuni/alumnae and friends.  These donations provide support for student scholarships and faculty research and teaching that is crucial to the Department’s mission of enhancing the understanding of economics at all levels. Walter L. Johnson Opportunities for Excellence Fund
The Walter L. Johnson Fund honors Walter’s many years of lively teaching and service to the Department.  Contributions to this fund may be directed to the areas of greatest Departmental need. Give Online >>

Economics Leaders Board Opportunity Fund
The Economics Leaders Board is made up of 15 dedicated alumni who volunteer their time and talent to promote the department, further the department's research and teaching missions, and assist with fundraising. Ted and Margaret Murray Faculty Fellowship Award in Economics – The purpose of the award is to provide resources to the Department of Economics to support outstanding department faculty who excel in teaching, research and service.

Pinkney C. Walker Faculty Enhancement Fund – This fund will be used to attract outstanding faculty, reward faculty excellence, or promote faculty retention in the Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Science. Give Online >>

 

Scholarship Funds:

Clay J. Anderson Memorial Scholarship
The Clay J. Anderson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students in economics. Recipients of the scholarship are juniors and seniors who have demonstrated excellence in their studies of economics, and who have maintained a high-level of academic performance. The scholarship honors Clay J. Anderson Jr., a 1950 MA graduate of the Department, who went on to an accomplished career in the investment industry. Give Online >>

Norman Bowers Scholarship Fund
This scholarship assists graduate students writing dissertations or theses on labor topics with a strong policy focus with special preference given to students who are conducting research focusing on the well-being of vulnerable groups in the labor market or exemplifing the careful use of empirical data – especially international comparative data. Give Online >>

Korea Studies Graduate Student Scholarship
This scholarship provides one or more annual fellowships to graduate students based on academic merit of students fluent in the Korean language and/or who have an interest in studying the Korean economy. Give Online >>

Maw Lin Lee Memorial Scholarship
The University of Missouri has established a memorial fund to honor longtime econometrics professor Maw Lin Lee. Donations to the Maw Lin Lee Memorial Scholarship will support scholarships for graduate students. Give Online>>

This scholarship honors Dr. Loschky for his far-reaching contributions to the University, the Department of Economics, his undergraduate and graduate students, and to the economics profession. Give Online >>

Allan and Barbara Soshnik Memorial Scholarship
The Allan and Barbara Soshnik Memorial Scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students in economics. Recipients of the scholarship are juniors and seniors who have demonstrated excellence in their studies of economics. The Elmer Wood Memorial Scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students in economics. Recipients of the scholarship are juniors and seniors who have demonstrated excellence in their studies of economics. Give Online >>

John Charles Willett Memorial Scholarship

Harry Gunnison Brown Memorial Fund
