Vitor Trindade, associate professor of economics, received a Purple Chalk Award at Memorial Union. Chalk Awards recognize faculty and staff who have made a difference in students' lives.

“I am especially honored by this award because it is given by the students themselves, in this case by the A&S Student Council, who has the sole responsibility to seek nominations and make the award decisions,” Trindade said.

Arts and Science Student Council president Blake Nourie and vice president Jacob Young presented Trindade with a plaque on behalf of the council.
