Assistant/Associate Research Professor

The University of Missouri, Columbia is seeking a scholar with expertise in public finance and policy evaluation for a non-tenure track position in the Department of Economics. The duties of the incumbent are expected to include extension and policy research (80%) and teaching (20%), although there is some flexibility in these assignments. The position is jointly funded with the University of Missouri Extension and the Truman School of Public Affairs.


Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in economics or related discipline awarded by September 1st, 2020.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates for Associate Research Professor should have expertise in state and local fiscal policy with a record of scholarly publications and external funding; experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level; and experience communicating and working with public officials and the media. Candidates for Assistant Research Professor should clearly demonstrate potential to succeed in these same dimensions.
