Podgursky, Koedel named among Education Week's top 200 education policy scholars

Department faculty members Michael Podgursky and Cory Koedel are among the top 200 education policy scholars nationally, according to an algorithmic ranking published by Education Week.

The 2018 rankings, which Education Week compiles annually, list Podgursky and Koedel as the No. 159 and No. 187 scholars, respectively.

They are the only two in the state of Missouri on the list.

The entire Top 200 list is published on Education Week.

"To elevate the role of arts education, measure it" provides a framework for educators to incorporate measures of the Every Student Succeeds Act with regard to arts and music education.

Assistant research professor Brian Kisida co-authored an article published this month in Kappan, the professional magazine of Phi Delta Kappa International that serves K-12 educators and policymakers.

"The art of partnerships: Community resources for arts education" explores arts-based partnerships in K-12 education and explains considerations for successful partnerships.
