Dr. Phillips is a Senior Data Scientist in the Department of Economics' health policy lab. Previous and current work has evaluated tobacco, paid sick leave, and hearing healthcare policies using survey and administrative data sources and quasi-experimental research methods. Other research interests lie in cancer disparities, social determinants of health, oncology patient navigation, and medically underserved populations. As a public health professional and former nurse, Dr. Phillips also has experience with program implementation and evaluation and patient care.
