Since receiving both his MA and PhD from the University of Missouri, Thomas B. Fomby (PhD 1975) has served as a Professor and Chairman for the Department of Economics at Southern Methodist University in addition to being the Director of the Richard B. Johnson Center for Economic Studies from 2012 to 2015. At SMU, he teaches econometrics at all levels as well as predictive analytics. In 2018, he received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Arts and Science Division at the University of Missouri.
