Congratulations to Cory Koedel and Shawn Ni for being named Melissa and David Skeens Faculty Fellows. This $5,000 award recognizes and celebrates department faculty excellence and is made possible by a generous gift from the Skeens family. Koedel is a Professor of Economics and Public Policy specializing in the economics of education. Ni is the Middlebush Professor of Economics and former department chair; he studies public pensions and inequality in household consumption. Both Koedel and Ni are highly cited scholars; recent publications in high impact refereed journals include: “The Effect of the Community Eligibility Provision on the Ability of Free and Reduced-Price Meal Data to Identify Disadvantaged Students” (Koedel and Parsons), Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis; and “Teacher Pension Plan Incentives, Retirement Decisions, and Workforce Quality” (Ni, Podgursky and Wang), Journal of Human Resources.
