Alumni Remember Dr. Johnson's Impact

MU Economics

The Mizzou Alumni Association survey results are in and it is a landslide!  Alumni remembered legendary Professor Walter Johnson as the person who had a special impact on their experiences as Mizzou students. During his 33 years in the classroom, Dr. Johnson taught over 40,000 students before retiring in 1998. He is missed but not forgotten: generous gifts from former students to the Walter Johnson Opportunities for Excellence in Economics fund honor his years of lively teaching in Middlebush Hall's Walter Johnson Auditorium.  Our department continues the tradition of excellence in undergraduate teaching with several award winning professors, including Dr. George Chikhladze, the 2019 winner of the Walter Johnson Award for Excellence in Economics.
