Dr. Trevon Logan, the Hazel C. Youngberg Distinguished Professor of Economics at Ohio State University, visited the Department of Economics at Mizzou last week, where he spoke to two large undergraduate classes and met with smaller groups of economics students. The visit was part of the Diversity in Economics Seminar Series, which is aimed at demonstrating to students the breadth and diversity of economic careers. As part of the faculty research seminar, Professor Logan also presented his work detailing data from the historical Green Books that can be used to measure local levels of discrimination in the U.S prior to the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
