Several undergraduate students from the Economics Department participated in ASA DataFest 2025 at Mizzou!! DataFest is a nationwide competition for undergraduates with the goal of analyzing a big dataset provided by a well-known corporate sponsor. It is a great opportunity to learn valuable skills that can help prepare students for the job market. It is also a wonderful opportunity for students to build relationships and team building skills!

The Department would like to congratulate Khaminjonova Kholida and Nurakhmedova Khadicha and their team, ExciteSQL, for being awarded Runner-up of Best Visualization; John Martin and his team, ggplot3, was awarded the Runner-up of Best Use of Statistical Analysis; and Topalovic Dzena and her team, Datanomics Collective, won Runner-up of Best in Show at the 2025 ASA DataFest. Congratulations to you all on your hard work and dedication to data. MIZ!
