Mizzou Economics PhD Alumni contribute to US trade deal with South Korea
Bravo to Mizzou Economics PhD alums in playing a pivotal role in US - Republic of Korea trade negotiations on the world stage
Dr. Jung-Kwan Kim received his PhD in Economics from Mizzou in 2002 and is serving as the Minister and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE). Dr. Ji Young Choi received his PhD in Economics from Mizzou in 2005 and is currently the Director-General for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In these roles, they contributed significantly to finalizing a trade deal between the United States and South Korea on July 30, 2025.
