Jonathan Thomas, Mizzou Economics Student, has recently accepted a full-time position at Deutsche Bank, in New York City, beginning in July, 2025. Jonathan will be working as a Risk Analyst in the investment bank's Chief Risk Office. Where he will participate in a graduate program that includes rotations across multiple risk functions. In this role, he will gain hands-on experience analyzing the bank's potential risk exposure, setting risk appetites, and supporting solutions that address the different risks that the bank faces.
Jonathan was previously among a small group of students selected around the country to participate in a summer internship at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. There, he gained exposure in how the Board's annual stress test affects the capital requirements of the largest banks in the country. Currently, he interns with the Atlanta Federal Reserve's Research Division, where he is contributing to the Fed's 2025 payment study.
During his time at Mizzou, Jonathan has held multiple leadership roles across the university including President of the University of Missouri Economics Society, Co-President of Omicron Delta Epsilon, and Executive Director for Mizzou's STRIPES program. These opportunities allowed him to cultivate his skills in leadership, critical thinking, and data analysis during his time as an undergraduate.
He will wrap up his 4 years at Mizzou in May, 2025, with degrees in Economics, Finance, and Real Estate, along with an investment certificate.
