Members of the University of Missouri Economics Graduate Student Association recently dedicated an evening to community service by volunteering at the Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri. The event brought students together for an opportunity to support local families while strengthening connections within the department.

During the volunteer event, students spent the evening packaging corn for distribution to individuals and families in need. Working together as a team, the group successfully packed more than 3,500 pounds of corn, helping prepare essential food supplies for the community.

The volunteer effort reflects EGSA's commitment to service, leadership, and community engagement beyond the classroom. The event also provided an opportunity for graduate students to bond with one another outside of academic and research settings. 

EGSA plans to continue organizing opportunities that allow students to engage with the larger University of Missouri and Columbia community.
