Michael Podgursky has been appointed to an advisory board for the Missouri Tax Commission (MTC). An important function of the MTC is help assure that commercial and residential properties are assessed in a consistent way across counties in Missouri. To this end, regular studies are undertaken comparing assessed to market value of properties in all Missouri counties. One function of this board is to advise the MTC on methods to do this in a consistent and statistically reliable way. This appointment follows from Podgursky’s work on the Governor’s School Funding Modernization Task Force.
