Thomas Jamison, a dual degree student in economics and journalism, has been awarded the John Charles Willett Memorial Scholarship. This award was established in memory of John Willett, who died in the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. The Department of Economics is making a special presentation of the award this semester in recognition of the twentieth anniversary of this tragic event. Recipients of this award are encouraged to participate in mentoring programs for other students. Thomas currently serves as president of the University of Missouri Economics Society, and in this role he has demonstrated his ability as a mentor and is well-placed to continue this important work.
