EPARC PROJECTS

Description:

Each year, the Missouri Attorney General’s Office (AGO) produces the Vehicle Stops Report (VSR) under the mandate of SB 1054 Section 590.650, RSMo to analyze the degree of disparities in vehicle stops by Missouri Law Enforcement Agencies. The report has been produced annually since 2000, with the University of Missouri researchers, Drs. Milyo and Street, conducting the data analysis for the report starting in 2020. In an effort to revamp the report, the MU team and AGO implemented a series of changes, most notably the addition of data visualizations and cross-agency contextualization. Each year, the MU team includes students who get hands-on experience working with the data and help produce the report. In recent years, the following students have worked on the report: Morgan Campbell (PhD student, 2020), Moenes Mellouli (PhD student, 2020), Savanah McAuley (MA student, 2021) Emma Gould (MA student, 2022) and Tabitha Juneau (PhD student, 2020-2023), who is now a faculty member of the team.
